For the longest time I’ve been wrecking my brain what to do with this blog of mine. As I really don’t want to get into personals here (you just never know who finds your site and there are a couple people or three I’d rather not read what I would have to say) and it also feels redundant to post finished work here, when it’s also posted on the main site, I thought one possibility would be to show you what’s “on the table”. Well in this case on the floor, but you get my drift. I’m taking various online classes at the moment (yet again), so some of the paintings were a result of the assignments. Since two of my classes involve face drawing and painting (yes, yet again), I’ve felt the urge to work on some abstracts (my beloved) on the side. So there you have it, on my bedroom floor.

Getting Wild With Acrylics – Again
Jan 8th, 2010 by Ursula

Sometimes I just get the urge to get wild with my paints. Keeping too much inside just to have sort of peace. I don’t want to fuel the fire/drama again, so I zip up my mouth, smile and let certain people believe they were fed wisdom by the spoonful. Here’s the thing, judging a situation when you only know half of the story never worked, doesn’t work and sure as heck will never work. Believing you see through it all because you probably saw 1% of the whole thing/showdown? Think again. Anyway, the point is, when there’s too much inside I grab painting surfaces, paints and pieces of torn cardboard to apply paint to the surface. The above came out this time. Now the brain has to take over again to make finished works of these backgrounds.

I don’t want it. I admit it looks beautiful, but I hate driving on snow roads. Is it March yet – please?
P.S. If I don’t have to use the car and am safely home, there isn’t anything better than a fire in the wood stove, a cup of coffee in hand, looking out the window, painting and, the most important thing in this scenario, listening to Carole King’s Tapestry album. If you haven’t tried it, do, and you’ll know what I mean.
